President's word

The West African Development Bank positions the BOAD DEVELOPMENT DAYS within a collective dynamic of strategic reflection and innovation in support of the Union’s development.
This second edition focuses on a key priority: “Building the Future of the WAEMU: Financing Sustainable, Inclusive Housing as a Driver of Energy Sovereignty.”
This theme reflects our conviction that the region’s future depends on infrastructures capable of improving living conditions, reducing vulnerabilities, and supporting the energy transition. Building resilient cities has become an essential priority, heightened by demographic growth, rapid urbanization, and the impacts of climate change.
One of our commitments—supporting sustainable housing and energy projects that transform territories over the long term—directly responds to this reality. To achieve this, we will continue to promote modern, accessible, and environmentally friendly infrastructure through the mobilization of diversified financing.
May this edition strengthen the momentum in favor of structuring projects that meet the need for sustainable housing and provide clean, accessible energy for our territories and their inhabitants.
